Bit of a wild one, huh? And nothing about that bottom of the ninth inning felt comfortable to me at all, even with Casey Janssen finally getting a chance to pitch. Don't believe me?
Bautista and Rasmus homered back-to-back twice, and were worth a combined .849 WPA. Of course, Coello and Frasor were worth almost the exact same, only in the negative form. Both Bautista and Rasmus are going to need Zaunheads for that.
Anyway, today, Joel Carreno is going to make a little emergency start for the Jays, after yesterday's little bullpen fiasco. Luiz Perez was probably the scheduled starter, with a chance of Aaron Laffey, I suppose, but with CharlieV and Robert Coello both needing to come in, I think it was pretty clear that they needed another arm to come up. Yan Gomes has been sent back down to Vegas, and Farrell says that this is a "Plan D" situation. Yovani "Lamborghini" Gallard goes for Milwaukee. He's really good.
Stuff
Looks like the Jays are in on Wandy Rodriguez. Big surprise.
Kevin Goldstein of Prospectus has an update on the Jays top 14 prospects. If you have money.
Apparently Rogers is trying to get the MLB Network in Canada. That would be fucking awesome. Parkes at Getting Blanked has the scoop.
