Run Support!

Hey, so run support is nice, huh Ricky?

The Jays went and put up 12 runs last night, and I wouldn't really mind if the same thing happened today, considering Brett Cecil is on the mound today for the Jays, and we don't really have any reason to trust him yet.  Having said that, he was at least reasonable in his last start against the Phillies, and the Marlins' offense isn't exactly a whole lot better.  Baby steps.

Anyway.  Lawrie had himself a nice little game last night, so he can have the Zaunhead.

Stuff
I'm sure all of the Blue Jays writers have all of this stuff up and going, but Shi Davidi is really my go-to guy, so we're just going to link his account and assume that everything that I've heard over the last 24 hours has been reported by him at one point or another.  Sounds fair, right?  Fuck you, I'm not lazy, you're lazy.

Sergio Santos is throwing again, and is pretty much starting from scratch, as if it were the first day of spring training again.  No timetable for his return.

Alex Anthopoulos says that he isn't really sure what's going to happen with Marcus Stroman (in terms of if/when he gets signed), but he feels good about Chase DeJong.  Stroman will be a college senior next year, so it would probably be in his best interest financially to sign now (that is to say, he'll be one of those guys who signs for $5000 next year) rather than be a re-draft next year.

Drew Hutchison is going to try to avoid surgery, and will be on a no-throw program for 4-6 weeks.  If all goes well, expect him back in September.

Alan Farina has been activated from the 60-day DL and sent to the minors.  Kyle Drabek was moved to the 60-day DL to make room.

Jesse Chavez will start Sunday, which moves Henderson Alvarez back a day.  Aaron Laffey will get the start on Tuesday.
